Back to the blog....

Well, staying away from the blogsite for over a year makes it challenging to figure out how to use it again.  Finally got back on track.  Apparently, I have two blogs each attached to their own gmail account.  Crazy-making!

I am thinking about quilts again, which made me think about my blog and how dis-used it has been.  Been doing more knitting than quilting lately (which is to say I haven't done any quilting since I posted my last 9 patch)
I recently bought a new bedding set for my bedroom because my old quilt was falling to pieces.  So, now I am back to thinking about making a quilt for Devon out of greens, greens and more greens.  Since I am still a beginner, it will have to be an easy pattern.  I'll have to pull out the ones I have saved and see if any inspire me to get started.

What to do for my next quilt?

I'm needing inspiration for my next quilt project.  It will be a king size quilt for my bed.  Bedroom is soft green - so it will have to include that.  I guess I'll have to start browsing quilt patterns.

Back to the blog

This working two jobs has seriously impeded my ability to have any spare moments to blog.  And then I completely forgot the very miniscule amount that I knew about blogging....

9 patch quilt in process

This quilt was inspired by Crazy Mom Quilts.
I am going to see if I can post the picture.... just learning all this blog stuff.
9 patch quilt top finished!
Dreaming about my next quilt project - a greenish quilt for my dear daughter who is going through some tough stuff in her life right now.  I think I am going to do a strip twist quilt with shades of green bordered in a deeper green solid (or almost solid). Scrafter's Retreat coming up 1st weekend of August so I can start cutting strips.

Back to work this week after a wonderful vacation in Humboldt and Del Norte counties last week.
I actually had time to read a novel on vacation. I read Pillars of the Earth and I absolutely loved it - now that is my kind of book! I also worked on my knitted afghan - trying to get it finished sometime this year. A bit of car knitting too on a baby blanket for my grand nephew who won't be a baby much longer....
I was delighted to find my quilt returned from my quilting sister in Seattle who quilted it on her long-arm machine. It came out great - I am so thrilled. I'll post pics after I get the binding sewn on.
My desk at work has been re-oriented, kind of gives me a new perspective....

Starting out

This is a new venture for me. A place to chronicle things I am doing at any given moment...
